our Story

dr. Scobii began as a way for us to help alleviate our own food sensitivities by fostering healthy gut flora and having as many varied strains as we could to help with digestion. We didn’t stop experimenting until we found the perfect combination of beneficial bacteria and supercharged superfoods.

We weren’t miraculously healed by water kefir, of course, but symptoms gradually got milder and immune responses to the things we were sensitive to became more manageable. As time passed the water kefir grains multiplied, so there was little choice but to start sharing the delicious water kefir with family and friends. The customer base grew naturally :)

Our kitchen counters became the home base for flavor experimentation and our apartment became the place to be if you wanted to try out new water kefir concoctions! Everyone who tried our drinks loved them – so we packed up all our jars and grains, rented space in a commercial kitchen, and dr. Scobii was born!

We use true superfood ingredients and ferment in small batches with lots of love.
